Happy New Year!
Well, 2012 is finally here and as we all gear up to ignore our New Year's resolutions over the next several days, weeks, and months, I am already eagerly anticipating the return of American Idol on January 18th. Rickey Yaneza, the force behind Rickey.org, reported all but the Top 24 results have been leaked online and he posted them on his website Monday. If you choose to not want to see lists, like yours truly, please ignore this link for now. I accidentally clicked on it myself and saw the list but I did a good job of immediately discarding the names of all the newbies. So while I did see some familiar names from past seasons, particularly last season, I am quite pleased with the names I did see even if I still would have preferred to not have seen the names at all. Opting to be pleasantly surprised is always far more rewarding anyway.
Stacy Francis declared her love for Adam Levine of Maroon 5 and The Voice tonight. When I replied to Stacy about this it only solicited a much more suggestive response on her part. I then tweeted back to her that there's nothing wrong with that but Stacy definitely enjoyed the banter on her Twitter account about her celebrity crush on the Maroon 5 frontman and The Voice mentor. Stacy is never boring, that's for sure.
Ashthon Jones is busy promoting her new single and she's anxious to drop her debut album very soon. I believe this is what it will be called but I am still seeking confirmation on that. We exchanged tweets tonight as well. Ashthon had expressed her disgust with reality show Mob Wives which I agreed with. While she deleted the initial tweet that triggered this response on my part, I did enjoy a brief exchange with the American Idol Top 13 finalist. She had initially responded to me thru direct messaging so I will omit her actual response for that reason although it is nothing taboo or controversial. I tweeted this back which earned me this and I immediately agreed with her in return. I certainly did not make an enemy out of Ashthon with this and she kindly blew me these. Ashthon is appearing on the radio Tuesday morning so please be sure to check it out if you are a fan of hers.
IN OTHER NEWS: Can't believe the finish of the Stanford-Oklahoma State game. What happened with redshirt freshman placekicker Jordan Williamson? 35 yard field goal to win it at the buzzer and he misses? Ugh! And then Oklahoma State gets the game winning field goal in overtime. Don't even get me started. The Cardinal should have won that game and the team deserved a better fate to an outstanding season. Andrew Luck certainly deserved a much more fitting finish to an amazing collegiate career. Now the NFL Draft watch continues for Luck. And what's with Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay firing longtime VP Bill Polian and his GM son Chris after a Peyton Manning-less 2-14 season? And the speculation continues to mount about the Colts drafting Andrew Luck to replace the first ballet Hall of Famer as the franchise quarterback. Could this be their Green Bay moment when Aaron Rodgers replaced Brett Favre? That seems to have worked out quite well in Cheesehead Country. This deal could provide both a nuisance and an opportunity. Stay tuned.
More to come over the next couple of days. Stay tuned. In the meantime, follow me on Twitter.
