Now that Melanie Amaro has wrapped up the inaugural season of the Americanized version of Simon Cowell's The X Factor, we can now happily turn our attention back to his old stomping grounds at American Idol. There is no shortage of eligible returnees on the show so I thought I'd take the time to simply list a bunch of them I'd love to see come back; whether they were featured singers cut right before the live Top 24 round or if they were barely shown screen time, I thought these singers were worth taking a more prolonged look at and deserved another crack at making it to the voting public. Last season featured arguably the strongest depth of talent ever in the show's history, with Season 8 perhaps being the lone exception, and so below are names I'd love to come back even if I know or am certain that some will not be mounting another effort.
